Why hemp fiber?
Hemp is among the strongest natural materials on earth, with a high growth rate and low water requirements - one tenth that of cotton. It also sequesters CO2 at seven times the rate of natural forests, and 15 times the rate of industrial forestry.
As photosynthesis breaks down CO2 into released Oxygen and Carbon stored in cellulose chains, our hemp-based composite can effectively absorb* more CO2 than its own weight. Compare that to man-made carbon fiber, which emits* up to 20 times its weight in CO2.
